How to Find Child Care for YourĀ Baby
Finding appropriate child care for your baby may be one of the first big decisions you make as a parent. And depending on where you live, you might have to figure it out during pregnancy so you can hold your spot. In some locales, you even need to get on waitlists a year in advance, so do your research early!
In this module you'll learn what to look for as you start the search. Be sure to download the Child Care Center Checklist and take it with you when you visit different programs! Not only will this help you know what to look for, but simply asking the right questions to the right person (director, teacher, etc.) will increase your confidence as a parent.
Another great resource for finding child care is the licensing platform in your area. In US each state has their own child care licensing regulations and requirements. You should be able to look up any state licensed center and check out their inspection reports and incident history.
